  8. Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 (which had given
  9. the Sioux a large area in the Black Hills of
  10. Dakota). Gold, uranium, coal, oil, and
  11. natural gas have been found there since, and
  12. the Sioux pressed for and were awarded $160
  13. million compensation 1980.
